Message From the Head of Department
Dear Students and Prospective Students,
Welcome to the Department of Cartoon and Animation at Alanya University.
Animation is a dynamic field where art and technology come together, and creativity continuously finds new forms of expression. Today, animation plays an important role in a wide range of industries, from cinema and digital games to advertising and visual communication. Beyond technical skills, it requires imagination, aesthetic awareness, and a distinctive creative perspective.
Our primary goal as a department is to provide students with a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills while encouraging them to develop their own creative identities. We aim to educate individuals who not only possess the technical skills to use contemporary technologies but also think critically, conduct research, create original works, and explore new possibilities of visual storytelling.
Since welcoming our first students in the 2021–2022 academic year, our department has continued to develop its educational resources and strengthen its academic foundations. Creating a learning environment that supports students' artistic and professional development while encouraging collaboration and creative production remains one of our key priorities. In this regard, we strive to help our students engage with different disciplines, keep pace with technological developments, and develop a perspective that is open to national and international advancements.
I warmly invite all prospective students interested in studying cartoon and animation to discover our department, where they can bring their imagination together with knowledge and practical skills. I look forward to sharing the excitement of learning, creating, and telling new stories together.
With best regards,
Asst. Prof. Kerim KARAGÖZ
Head of the Department of Cartoon and Animation
